My sympathies. It's always a problem when brands compromise the standard their customers expect.

Instead of me writing about it, your comment is the best expression of your angst. I'm sure posting it on social media channels will get traction from those who have had a similar experience.

That will hopefully get the company to respond.

Speaking of brand image, there's the sad case of TTK Prestige.

My mom swore by the brand. She wouldn't buy another and in her time there was only Hawkins as an option. When I set up home in 2009, I swore by Prestige too. Until I found out recently that there's no prestige left in Prestige anymore. It's now as good as any cheap Chinese unknown in the market. You might want to write about this? High time someone did.

Here's why I will NEVER ever buy another prestige product:

- A 2 liter cooker that we bought recently blew a pressure valve while still on the gas stove and messed our kitchen. When we took it to the dealer, we were told it would take 10 days or so to fix it. Bad enough that the product was shitty and then they rub it in with apathy.

- We bought a set of knives from the showroom the same day we bought the cooker mentioned above. And found out at home that the knife had a tiny little tongue at the working edge that cuts us when wiping it after use.

- Later, at a hospital we found that the Prestige electric kettle is actually not made by them. There was this ditto kettle from Intex right there in the nurses' bay. DITTO in every detail. Only the label differed.

- And an induction heater we bought from them sometime in 2021 used to put out a burnt plastic smell for a couple of weeks, every time we switched it on. We were told by the dealer that "it would go away eventually...". :)

With such a major "care-a-damn" attitude, we figured it would be useless raising a flag with them. But maybe we could let you know?
